Project Description:

Students will look at weather data for certain biomes in our world. They will use the data to analyze weather patterns in that particular biome. They will then research more on their biome with their group. They will then use all the information they and their group gather to make a slides presentation about their biome. They will then use this presentation to teach others about their biome.

Final Product(s):

Digital presentation of the information they gather on their biome with their group.

Essential Standards:

  • With guidance and support, use visual tools and informational texts to interpret, draw conclusions, make predictions, and communicate information and ideas. (3.TS.7.B)
  • Represent data in tables and graphical displays to describe typical weather conditions expected during a particular season. [Clarification Statement: Examples of data could include average temperature, precipitation, and wind direction.] (3.ESS.2.D)
  • Obtain and combine information to describe climates in different regions of the world. (3.ESS.2.D)
  • Apply a writing process to develop a text for audience and purpose. (3.W.1)
  • Apply the research process. (3.W.3.A)
