Title:

Why does it MATTER?

X

Timing:

Approximately 10 weeks

X

Driving Question:

How can I help community members learn about where the synthetic materials they use come from and how the use of those materials affects them as individuals, the environment, or society?

X

Project Description:

While learning about what matter is made up, how it is organized and how it impacts our lives, students will be applying their knowledge to a specific type of synthetic matter of their choosing. They will research what their matter is composed of, the processes used to create it and how it impacts individuals, society and the environment. By the end of the project they will have created an informational "document" to share their knowledge, and they will have also created a public service announcement to promote or initiate change.

Final Product(s):

Team products: informational piece (brochure, website, etc.) and advocacy public service announcement.
