How can we help our Spanish-speaking families get to know our school?
Project Description:
Currently, our school district is consciously integrating ELL students into all of the middle schools (instead of being housed at just one). This means we will have more diverse families whose home language is not English. All school resources are written in English only, causing a communication gap with our ELL families. This project is meant to help bridge the gap by creating resources for our Spanish-speaking families.
Final Product(s):
Individual project: La Clase Favorita advertisement
Group project: Product to help families connect with the school (student choice: video, list, handout, booklet, etc.)

Teacher Reflection:
The logistical part of setting up adults to come in (or telecomm) to the classes is a bit challenging. Once that has happened, it becomes easier to set up students in their groups and projects.
